He insisted he did not want a party or any fuss made over him. So we brought up some of his favorite Indian take out foot and some yummy Whole Foods cupcakes and kept in low key. My husband was surprised my Dad liked Indian food so much (being Argentinian and all) - but I explained it happened after so many years of having engineering co-workers from India, he grew to love all their foods. Instead of singing Happy Birthday, we sang Happy Labor Day, just so he'd know the cupcakes weren't *really* all about him! Love ya, papa!
