Snarky Pro-Homeschooling Post

Ok, I just have to get this off my chest.

All of you Moms who lament how you could never homeschool like I do because you don't have enough patience or it would take too much of your time, blah blah blah.

I've got just two words to say...

Leprechaun Traps

I have seen at least five postings on Facebook so far tonight complaining about how much time the Moms have been spending building and decorating Leprechaun traps for their kids' St. Patrick's Day celebration at school.

Now, before I even go off on a tangent about why are you doing your child's school project for them....I have to say....

I don't have enough patience and it would take too much of my time to build a Leprechaun trap.

Today I enjoyed a long, late, and leisurely lunch with my daughter while she did multiplication problems at the restaurant table. During her choir practice, I went to the chiropractor's office for an adjustment and then stopped by to see a friend's new laundry room design. I came home, had dinner with the boys, and then enjoyed a glass of wine out on the back patio as the sun was finally setting and thought to myself: "Thank God I don't have to make a freakin' Leprechaun Trap this week."

{Yes, I really do think about all the time I save not doing ridiculous school projects.}

Oh, and I'm also not making soup for Teacher Appreciation Week or working on the Gala Fundraiser. I just don't have the patience or the time to do that.

Every choice we make has consequences. You just have to decide if you can live with the consequences of the choice you make.

I can live with mine. Can you?

  1. Just an AMEN. People think I'm crazy-who's still sipping coffee and eating a real breakfast with the kids at 8:30 rather than rushing out the door with Pop Tarts at 7 a.m? This gal.
